My very first Working Dog Group judging appointment - and at the Ku-Ring-Gai
Kennel Club at Castle Hill in Sydney - talk about going in head first!
Anyway, had some lovely, lovely dogs and enjoyed the whole experience
tremendously. My BIG winner was a beautiful Sheltland Sheepdog, and RUBIG
I awarded to a stunning Australian Shepherd, both of whom were absolutely
excellent moving dogs.
Friday August 5th.
While showing only sparingly over the intervening months, Jann has been
steadily accumulating Challenge points with "Damien". Under
Mrs H Furber (NSW), "Damien"
passed the 25 points required after twelve months of age and attained
his Australian Championship title at just over fifteen months of age.
He finished in fine style, also taking out Runner Up to Best In Group.
He takes the number
of Australian Champions carrying the Auslander prefix to fourteen. Two
of whom also went on to become multi- Best in Show winning Australian
Grand Champions - the bitch, Grand Champion Auslander Light Fingers &
our outstanding top winning, mutlti-Royal BOB male, Grand Champion Auslander
Dark Jester who has 43 BIS/RUBIS wins to his credit.

Auslander Rough N Reddy, took the honours, winning the Dog Challenge and

was Reserve Challenge to him, was awarded Junior In Group, and went on
to take out Junior In Show under Mrs Flora Mackenzie (Canada) - third
time lucky!
Saturday September
3rd.
With her win at Narrandera under Mrs C Butler (NSW), "Kayo",
multi- BIS winner, Ch Auslander Living Doll, passed 750 Challenge/BOB
points, so needs only another 250 points to attain the title of Australian
Grand Champion.

The Dobermann Club
of New South Wales Specialty, with renowned judge, Dr Sam Burke (Jr),
President of the Dobermann Pinscher Club of America, held in conjunction
with the RNSWCC Spring Fair Weekend.
Both "Damien"
and his red litter brother, Auslander Vangelis "Van", won theirClasses
- at just under nineteen months of age these were superb wins for both
of them, by far the youngest in their Classes. Then "Damien"
topped it off when he was awarded Reserve Challenge. "Quinn"
also did her bit, coming second in her Class - again, she was the youngest
bitch.

Saturday &
Sunday, November 19th & 20th,
2005
At the Spring
Fair, out of all the Dobermanns present, "Damien" was probably
the most consistently good performer across the three shows, taking out
second place in the Intermedaite Class over the next two days to different
dogs.
"Quinn"
did almost as well, winning her Class on Saturday and even "Isabeau"
was placed on Sunday by Canadian Mrs J Hunt.
However, "Kayo" was the big star, winning Best Of Breed under
Group Specialist Mr Ronnie Tolsen from Ireland on Saturday over Lynne
Harwoods male challenge winner, Ch Cabochon Ecky Thump. Mr Tolson told
Peter afterwards that if it hadn't been so hot (around 37 degrees) he
would have sent them both around a few more times just to watch her move.
Unfortunately he was not judging Group Specials.
These were our last
shows for the year, so nothing more to tell until the middle of February
2006, except that I had my third Working Dog appoinment on New Years Eve
at the RNSWCC Canine Complex at Erskine Park and awarded Best In Group
to a stunning Border Collie.
